Morning playtime

Break from 10:40-11:00am for Year groups 1-6 on our lovely back playing field and astro-turf. A range of games and activities are offered, some led by our Year 5 playleaders.

When the weather demands, changes may be made to play areas, activities or the choice of indoor/outdoor play. For example, when the ground is wet, we ask children to bring in wellies to maximise the use of our back playing field.

Reception Class do not have a morning break, but do enjoy movement and opportunities for a change of environment in their own dedicated indoor and outdoor areas through their planned continuous provision.

Lunchtime

Lunch is 12:00 - 12:45pm.

Reception, Year 1, 2 and 3 eat their lunches from 12:00pm, going out to play once they have finished eating and no sooner than 12:20pm.

Reception Class return to their dedicated outdoor area for playtime, supported by their adults and Year 6 play leaders.

Years 4 , 5 and 6 play outside between 12:00 and 12:25pm, before going to eat their lunch at 12:25.

Afternoon playtime

There is a movement break from 2:00 - 2:15pm for Year groups 1-6 on our lovely back playing field and astro-turf.

Drop-off and Collection

The classrooms are open from 8:35am when teachers will be ready to welcome the children. Children are encouraged to manage their routines independently and settle to their morning tasks.

If there is an issue that might affect the wellbeing of a child, parents are welcome to discuss this with a senior member of staff on the gate before registration or make an appointment for a longer discussion with the class teacher at the end of the school day.

Drop off

Drop off takes place within the school grounds, once inside the school gate or at the classroom door for younger children. There are always members of staff to support children coming into school.

At the end of the day, parents/ carers collect children from the back doors of the classrooms.

If parents of children in Years 5 and 6 feel it is appropriate for their child to walk home independently, they need to inform the School Office in writing.
